Application

This Anti-Prohibitin Antibody, clone 2E12 is validated for use in Immunocytochemistry and Flow Cytometry and Immunoprecipitation for the detection of Prohibitin.

Flow Cytometry Analysis: 1.0 µg of this antibody from a representative lot detected Prohibitin in 1X10E6 Jurkat T cells.
Immunoprecipitation Analysis: A representative lot immunoprecipitated Prohibitin in MRC5 cells.
Flow Cytometry Analysis: A representative lot detected Prohibitin in Jurkat cells (Thomas Moran, Mount Sinai School of Medicine, New York, NY).
Immunocytochemistry Analysis: A representative lot detected Prohibitin in HeLa cells (Thomas Moran, Mount Sinai School of Medicine, New York, NY).

General description

Prohibitin is an inhibitor of DNA synthesis that is widely expressed across various tissues. Prohibitin influences proliferation, and may also have a role in regulating mitochondrial respiration activity and in aging. Expression levels of prohibitin in fibroblasts have been found to decrease heterogeneously as cellular aging occurs.
